Tracking a virus along the plasma membrane in nm and ms resolution

This Nature methods paper by Kukura et al was published on Nov. 1, 2009.  The article shows the development of a method to track single virus particles moving on the cell membrane after binding.  The virus was Simian virus 40 (SV40).  The method uses single molecule fluorescence microscopy and scattering interferometry.  The virus particles were labeled with a quantum dot.
