US President Obama initiates a new annual country-wide science fair contest

ABC news has an article on Nov. 23, 2009 about President Barack Obama’s initiative to have a US wide competition for science projects.  The winners of the science fair would appear at the White House.  The reason for the high publicity is to increase the visibility and importance of science in the United States as science and math education in the US lags behind other countries.
