Diatom reference spreadsheet

Diatoms are photosynthetic microorganisms that are primarily characterized by their ability to extract silicon dioxide from water for the construction of rigid cell walls.  They are important primary producers in ocean ecosystems and their silicon dioxide manipulating ability is of interest to researchers.

The reference spreadsheet below shows the 49 most highly cited authors and articles in diatom research (as of June 8, 2010).  However, due to online display size limitations, the 49 authors and 663 papers shown online represent only 0.5% of all known corresponding authors and 3.5% of all published papers. The downloadable Excel 2007 spreadsheet (24 MB download) contains the full set of authors and papers.
