Waterpipe health effects reference spreadsheet

Waterpipe example

Waterpipe example

The waterpipe (also known as the hookah, argileh, nargile or shisha) is a device used to inhale the smoke of tobacco or other substances.  Waterpipe use is very common in Middle East countries and its use is increasing worldwide.  In contrast to the numerous studies on the effects of cigarette smoking, waterpipe health effect studies are far fewer.  The reference spreadsheet below shows all published studies on the health effects of waterpipe smoking (as of March 28, 2011).

An excel spreadsheet containing the same data can be downloaded.
